The Client's Situation:

     Mark Savoia approached Savage Marketing with the vision of creating a standout brand in the highly competitive Costa Rica real estate market. After selling real estate in this location for three years, Mark was looking for a way to break away from the pack and offer a unique experience to the market, delivered through a brand that would attract a certain kind of buyer.

     The challenge was to find a way to take his unique background as a contractor-turned real estate investor and agent and package it in a way that was unique, and attention-getting.

The Strategy:

Create a Brand for Wealth Builders, Not Just Property Buyers 

     Mark's value to real estate clients included sharing a wealth of information and experience on the ins and outs of relocating to Costa Rica - the kind of high value information on residency, taxation, legal considerations, and setting up businesses that other relocation experts charge for. 

     

     Savage set out to incorporate all of this high value service under the real estate banner, attracting the kind of buyer who not only wanted to purchase a home but as a savvy wealth-building move. 

      

Logo, Brand Identity & Lead Generating Website

     The strategy demanded a high end, luxury-feeling brand identity that conveyed the white glove service that Mark delivers to clients. Enter the "Golden Toucan," motif, which struck the perfect balance between a high end aesthetic in a tropical paradise. 

Lead Magnet and Funnel Strategy

     Savage wrote and published a 48-page downloadable lead magnet ebook ("The Costa Rica Playbook") and built the entire brand around this messaging, including the brand new website CostaRicaPlaybook.com.

     Savage created Meta video and Google ads and social content to drive traffic to the new site, and and email follow up strategy to nurture the subscriber list and drive bookings (one-on-one calls with Mark.)  

Video-Centric Instagram and TikTok Content Strategy

     Savage built a video content strategy around Mark Savoia's natural influencer persona. This involves filming and post-production for a high volume of video content including on-location walking tours of properties for sale, original drone footage, and informational content on relocating to Costa Rica.

The Results:

     The launch of Costa Rica Playbook took the market by storm. Interest in downloads was immediate and has not let up. Two years later, email subscriber count has surpassed 5,000 emails, providing Savoia with his own pool of owned leads to mine for pipeline.

     Mark Savoia and Costa Rica Playbook are now established as THE go-to resource to contact for foundational information and research on moving and buying property in Costa Rica. 

Metrics include: 

  • 5,000 email subscribers

  • 30,000+ Instagram and Tik Tok followers

  • Over 10 million organic views of video content

  • Organic traffic has now FULLY REPLACED ad spend, meaning new subscribers to the Costa Rica Playbook now come 100% from organic social traffic, reducing ad budget to $0

From doing zero marketing, and having no brand to now owning a widely-recognized brand property with millions of impressions and tens of thousands of social followers, Mark Savoia's story is a testament to what is possible when a business owner ambition for scale is matched with the right agency to bring this vision to life.
